The 2026-2027 school year was officially launched on October 5, 2026, in Dinguiraye, Guinea. A mission led by Mme Sylla Fatoumata Baldé visited 13 primary schools and two secondary schools in the urban center to assess the readiness of the establishments. They found that school preparation notebooks had been approved by school administrators and that programmed teachers had taken up their posts and started teaching.
The mission also evaluated the state of school infrastructure. However, they noted that the Ibrahima-Kourouma primary school in the Manden neighborhood was in a state of disrepair. The team called on authorities, local residents, and well-wishers to contribute to its rehabilitation. The mission was accompanied by the préfecture's secrétaire général, Ibrahima Sall, the chef de cabinet, and the maire of the urban commune.
During the visit, the secrétaire général congratulated and encouraged students for attending school on the first day of the new academic year. The launch of the school year in Dinguiraye is part of a broader national effort to improve education in Guinea.
