The Minister for Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, and Mr. Sadat Anwel Ahmed, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Oforikrom, have commissioned a health clinic for the Ayigya Zongo Community in Ghana. The clinic was built with the support of the Qatar Charity Foundation. This new facility aims to improve healthcare services for the local residents. The clinic is equipped with various sections, including a vaccination ward, medical examination room, maternity ward, and male and female wards.
The Oforikrom MCE, Mr. Sadat Anwel Ahmed, commended the Interior Minister for his efforts in ensuring the facility was completed on time. He praised Alhaji Muntaka for lessening the burden on the Municipality in its quest to improve the living standards of the people of Asawase and Oforikrom. The MCE also acknowledged the Minister's efforts in prioritizing Zongo communities in the Ashanti Region. The clinic is expected to have a positive impact on the community's healthcare.
Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak stated that the clinic would bring quality and accessible healthcare to the people, emphasizing that health is not a luxury. He noted that the facility would also create jobs and empower local people. The Minister promised to collaborate with colleagues in Parliament to ensure development reaches the people in the Ashanti Region. He stressed the importance of security and health, describing them as two sides of the same coin.
The Interior Minister urged health workers to maintain the facility and keep it fit for purpose. He also entreated community members to protect the facility. Alhaji Muntaka promised to work with the Assembly to fence the facility and protect the workers. He further promised to provide a bungalow for staff. The Minister emphasized his commitment to serving not only the electorates of Asawase but also the people of Ashanti.
The Country Director of Qatar Charity Foundation, Hasan Owda, expressed the organization's commitment to continuing its work with partners and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to bring quality healthcare to the people. He commended all contributors and lauded community leaders for achieving the milestone. Hasan Owda noted that healthcare is essential in people's lives.
Hasan Owda added that Qatar Charity Foundation would continue to work hand in hand with Ghana to improve healthcare delivery in communities. He emphasized that healthcare delivery can be achieved through a comprehensive approach and community support. The Country Director pledged that Qatar would always stand behind Ghana and support the Minister for the Interior whenever needed.
