Poultry feed prices varied between 23,000 and 25,000 EGP per ton, depending on factors such as age, bird type, quality, and bag weight. These prices were reported in market transactions and trades. According to traders, prices for different types of animal feed have increased. For instance, feed for poultry production ranged from 19,000 to 21,500 EGP per ton. Cattle feed prices fell within the range of 16,000 to 21,000 EGP, while feed for ducks cost between 22,400 and 24,400 EGP. Additionally, rabbit feed was priced at 17,300 EGP, and pigeon feed ranged from 19,100 to 20,400 EGP.
Traders also reported that prices for other types of feed have increased. For example, quail feed costs between 23,000 and 24,000 EGP, while pigeon feed was priced between 21,000 and 23,000 EGP. Feed for camels and horses cost 18,600 EGP, and ostrich feed was priced at 23,000 EGP. Furthermore, concentrated feed reached 25,500 EGP per ton.
The prices of raw materials used in animal feed production have also increased. The price of Brazilian and Argentine yellow corn, a primary raw material, reached 15,000 EGP per ton. Ukrainian, Serbian, and American yellow corn was priced at 14,500 EGP per ton, while Argentine corn flakes cost 16,500 EGP.
Traders noted that the prices of other raw materials, such as cotton seeds, flax seeds, and coarse bran, have also risen. Cotton seeds were priced at 24,500 EGP per ton, and flax seeds cost 25,000 EGP. Coarse bran was priced at 14,500 EGP, and soybean hulls cost 15,000 EGP.
The prices of various types of soybean and sunflower meal, used in animal feed production, have also increased. Local soybean meal with 44% protein content was priced at 25,000 EGP per ton, while the 46% protein content variety cost 26,000 EGP. Imported soybean meal was also priced at 26,000 EGP per ton. Sunflower meal was priced at 20,000 EGP, up from 18,500 EGP.
According to Dr. Abdulaziz El-Sayed, head of the Poultry Wealth Chamber in the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, poultry feed prices range between 23,000 and 25,000 EGP per ton. He attributed the price variation to differences in quality, protein content, and logistical costs. El-Sayed also noted that imported corn prices continue to fluctuate following its introduction to the commodity exchange.
