Egyptian Communications and Information Technology Minister, Eng. Entero Holding aims for the "Kemit" data center to be the first project of its kind within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, classified as Tier III, and a vital facility for major companies requiring advanced cloud capabilities. The group plans to reach a total capacity of 80 megawatts with investments of $270 million in the first phase.

Rafeat Hendy emphasized the Ministry's efforts to create an attractive investment environment for the data center industry and encourage the private sector to establish advanced data centers according to international standards. He noted that Egypt has competitive advantages that qualify it to expand in the data center industry, which contributes to driving digital transformation efforts and supporting the growth of cloud computing services.
