The Burkinabe Council of Ministers convened on November 5, 2026, in Ouagadougou, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traore. The meeting deliberated on various agenda items, received oral communications, made nominations, and authorized foreign missions. Key decisions included the dissolution of the National Council for the Fight Against AIDS and Sexually Transmissible Infections' permanent secretariat, with its duties transferred to the Ministry of Health.

The Council adopted a decree approving the statutes of the Ouagadougou Higher Institute of Logistics (ISLO), updating its governance structure and accounting rules. This move aims to enhance the institute's effectiveness in its role. Additionally, a decree modified the organization of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Mobility, creating a new Directorate for Peace Promotion and an National Office for Religious Regulation.

The Council greenlit several projects under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. One decree declared the construction of the Isidore Noël Thomas SANKARA Memorial as a matter of public utility, aiming to build a 87-meter tower, a 2,360 m2 museum, and a cable car linking the memorial to the Bangr-Weogo Park by 2028. The project site spans 14 hectares, but faces challenges due to private properties and diplomatic enclaves.

Two other decrees under the Ministry of Economy and Finance declared the implantation of a integrated glass production complex in Léguéma, Bobo-Dioulasso, and the industrial production unit of FASO CIMENT in Bobo-Dioulasso as matters of public utility. These projects aim to boost the industrial sector, satisfy growing demand for glass products, and enhance national economic competitiveness.

The Council also approved specific projects proposed by the National Bureau of Grand Projects of Burkina (BN-GPB), including the development of a site in Ouagadougou for the construction of 89 buildings with 2,928 F3 and F4-type housing units, under the Presidential Initiative for Community Development. Another project involves acquiring audiovisual equipment for two stadiums, as part of the Presidential Initiative for the Rise and Promotion of Sports Elite.

The total budget for the BN-GPB projects amounts to 145.476 billion CFA francs, financed by the 2026 state budget. These initiatives reflect the government's efforts to drive development and improve infrastructure in the country.

Overall, the Council of Ministers' meeting demonstrated the government's commitment to addressing various aspects of governance, infrastructure, and public services in Burkina Faso. The decisions made are expected to have a positive impact on the country's development trajectory.
