Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has announced plans to upgrade the state's 23 general hospitals with modern medical equipment. This move aims to improve access to quality healthcare for residents. Alia made this disclosure at the inauguration of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Door-to-Door Movement initiative for the 2027 elections in Benue State. The initiative was organised by Chief Tompolo.

According to Governor Alia, three containers of medical equipment have arrived in Lagos and are currently undergoing clearance. Additional supplies are expected to arrive in the country soon. The intervention is expected to reduce the need for residents to travel long distances in search of quality medical care. This move is part of Alia's administration's efforts to prioritize the welfare of Benue people.

The governor also announced plans to expand the state-owned transport company, Benue Links, by acquiring additional vehicles. This move aims to ease transportation difficulties faced by residents. Alia recalled that his administration had provided 100 buses to Benue Links within the first 100 days of his administration to improve public transportation.

During the inauguration, Governor Alia urged stakeholders in the Door-to-Door Movement to promote the message that everyone matters. He assured that vehicles donated to the initiative would be put to judicious use. Alia commended Tompolo for initiating the movement and called on Benue residents to support Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027.

Former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, also urged Nigerians to return Tinubu to office. Suswam argued that the President had initiated economic reforms whose benefits would extend to future generations. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including politicians and community leaders.

Governor Alia also promised to establish more industries during a second term. He described industrial development as part of his strategy to strengthen the state's economy. Alia's administration has prioritized the welfare of Benue people, and he assured that his administration would continue to deliver democratic dividends to their doorsteps.
