The Algerian province of Ghilizane is preparing for the October 2026 intake of vocational training with 2635 available seats across 49 specialties and 27 vocational branches. This development is part of efforts to align training programs with market demands. A significant portion of the training seats, 490, has been allocated for beneficiaries of the unemployment grant. These seats are distributed across 18 training institutions within the province. The training programs for unemployment grant beneficiaries cover 15 specialties across five sectors. The industry sector has the largest share with 255 seats, followed by the services sector with 160 seats. Other sectors, including support for institutions, agriculture and fishing, construction and public works, and sports, will also be covered.
The October intake features a range of training programs, including 1060 seats for in-person training and 1005 seats for apprenticeship programs within 15 vocational branches. Additionally, there will be programs for women staying at home, evening classes, distance learning, and training for inmates.
This year's October intake is notable for incorporating specialties related to digital transformation and technology, such as digital marketing, e-commerce, database management, and computer networking. These additions reflect the evolving demands of the job market and the needs of economic institutions.
New specialties have been introduced in response to national market needs, including animal health assistance, hospitality, and tourism agencies. Other traditional specialties, such as food industries, tailoring, agriculture, and construction, will also be offered. The programs include technical specialties like industrial electricity, chemical industries, and renewable energy.
The Ghilizane province has a total of 26 vocational training institutions with a capacity of 6300 seats, including three national specialized institutes and one regional institute for training people with special needs. This network provides comprehensive coverage across the province, offering diverse training opportunities for young people.
