Rakai and Kai Cenat are not biologically related, despite their close relationship and similar names. QuVonn RaKai Linder, known as Rakai, was born on 21 November 2008 in Syracuse, New York. His middle name, RaKai, appears to contain "Kai," leading fans to naturally link the two. However, the name predates their friendship. Rakai is an American online streamer, YouTuber, and rapper, best known for his affiliation with the AMP content group and collaborations with Kai Cenat.
The two streamers first connected after Rakai jokingly called himself Kai's son on a Twitch stream. Kai Cenat seemingly took an affinity for Rakai due to the latter's impersonation of his signature characteristics. Since then, Rakai has repeatedly appeared in Kai Cenat's broadcasts and events. Their relationship evolved from an accidental internet resemblance into a chaotic, big-brother-and-protégé dynamic filled with viral moments, mentorship, and occasional comedy blowups.
Kai Cenat refers to Rakai as his "son" or "little brother," but this is simply how he expresses mentorship, not a literal family claim. Kai Cenat has used similar language with other collaborators, including IShowSpeed. Rakai looks up to Kai Cenat and often appears in his broadcasts and events, such as Mafiathon subathons and Streamer University events.
Rakai is known for his high-energy "Just Chatting" streams, where he engages with his audience through humour and interactive content. He first gained major traction through his friendship and frequent collaborations with Kai Cenat, especially during Kai's Mafiathon 2 and 3 marathons. Rakai has been an affiliated member of AMP since 2025.
In 2025, Rakai appeared on streamer PlaqueBoyMax's series In The Booth, where he collaborated on the track Turn Up alongside PlaqueBoyMax and rapper BunnaB. The song was released on 24 October 2025, under 5STAR Records. Rakai was also nominated for "Best Breakout Streamer" at the 2025 Streamer Awards.
Kai Cenat, born on 16 December 2001 in New York City, is the most-subscribed Twitch streamer in the world, with 21 million followers. He is a member of the streamer collective AMP and the creator of Streamer University, a boot camp event for online content creators. Rakai ultimately appeared at Streamer University 2026, despite not being initially invited.
Rakai's rapid rise has earned him a significant following, but he has also faced challenges, including platform bans in December 2025 due to allegations related to legal misconduct. The friction intensified at the 2025 Streamer Awards when QTCinderella made a joke referencing Rakai's platform bans, leading him to criticise the event online.
