The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, founded by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has launched its Kano State structure as part of its grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The movement donated 50 branded vehicles to support its mobilisation activities across Kano's 44 local government areas. The vehicles were presented on Sunday at the Government House, Kano, during the official unveiling of the movement's state structure.
Representing Tompolo at the event, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, said the movement would take its campaign directly to voters through structures established at the grassroots. The movement plans to establish structures across the country and deploy coordinators at the ward and polling-unit levels to engage residents ahead of the election. Guwor, who is also the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, said the movement is mobilising support for Tinubu based on the administration's economic reforms and infrastructure projects.
Guwor cited the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms, and infrastructure projects, including the Kano rail project and the rehabilitation of the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, as some of the achievements of the Tinubu administration in the state. He stressed that the administration's bold economic reforms and good works would attract people's support. The movement's plan is to knock on every door and every home, so that people will give their massive support to President Tinubu.
The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, who received the vehicles, described the donation as a demonstration of Tompolo's support for the APC and Tinubu's re-election bid. Yusuf said the vehicles would be deployed to support the party's political structures and groups across the state as they prepare for the 2027 general elections. He urged political stakeholders, particularly in the North, to support Tinubu's bid for a second term.
Yusuf argued that presidential power should return to the North after the South completes an eight-year cycle. He also called for peaceful and issue-based campaigns, urging political parties to focus on their records, policies, and development plans rather than personal attacks. The governor advised that this year's campaign should be issue-based, focusing on what each party has done or plans to do for the people.
