Tanzania's Deputy President Deogratius Ndejembi has emphasized the need for Africa to accelerate the implementation of its development plans and agreements. Speaking on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Alamein Business Forum in Egypt, Ndejembi stated that Africa has good policies, strategies, and agreements in place for development, but it needs to increase the pace of implementation.
The Deputy President highlighted the importance of investing in energy and infrastructure as the foundation for Africa's new growth. He cited Tanzania's experience in implementing large-scale strategic projects, including the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project, which has a capacity to generate 2,115 megawatts of electricity. Ndejembi also stressed the importance of cooperation between governments and the private sector, cross-border investment, and integrating African economies to reduce dependence on external markets and capital.
