Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has eulogized late William Okoye as a statesman of faith and a fearless voice of truth. Okoye, who passed away recently, was a prominent figure in Nigeria's Christian community. He served as the general overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission and as a chaplain at the Aso Rock Villa Chapel. Okoye was also a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on Youth Affairs and represented the FCT at the National Political Reform Conference. He held leadership positions in the Christian Association of Nigeria and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan paid tribute to Okoye, recalling their first meeting while Jonathan was serving as governor of Bayelsa State. Jonathan described Okoye as a man of integrity who stood for what was right. Okoye served as deputy chaplain to Yusufu Obaje and later as chaplain during Jonathan's presidency. Jonathan praised Okoye's leadership and commitment to his faith.

Former Head of State Yakubu Gowon praised Okoye's leadership, integrity, humility, and commitment to his faith. Gowon, who was unable to attend the tribute physically, delivered his message virtually. He recalled Okoye's support for the Nigeria Prays movement since its inception in 1996. Gowon described Okoye's memory as evergreen and praised his contributions to the country.

Other notable figures who paid tribute to Okoye include Anambra Central Senator Victor Umeh, who described Okoye as a brother from the same local government area in Anambra State. Umeh recalled Okoye's efforts to promote peace and stability in Anambra State during its political crisis. Okoye's wife, Toyin Okoye, thanked God for her husband's life and acknowledged the support of Christian leaders during the difficult period.

Paul Enenche, founder of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, praised Okoye's passion for Nigeria's spiritual and physical wellbeing. Enenche recalled Okoye's belief in the power of prayer and his commitment to transforming Nigeria. The President of CAN, Daniel Okoh, described Okoye as a preacher, trainer, and mentor who dedicated his life to God and humanity.

Okoye is survived by his wife, six children, and nine grandchildren. His legacy continues to inspire many, with his family and friends recalling his compassion, kindness, and commitment to his faith. The PFN national president, Wale Oke, led prayers for the family and the church the deceased left behind.
