Sudan's Human Resources and Social Development Minister, Ma'tasm Ahmed Salih, has emphasized the importance of the relationship between population, peace, and development, stating that they are interconnected and inseparable. During the Arab Population Day celebration, organized by the National Population Council in partnership with several entities, Salih highlighted that the war has exposed the country's challenges, including displacement, refugees, and unemployment.

Minister Salih noted that despite these challenges, Sudan possesses human resources capable of contributing to recovery. He pointed out that youth represent the largest energy capable of driving recovery and are essential partners in creating solutions and promoting national cohesion. Salih stressed that building peace requires addressing the root causes of conflicts, promoting a culture of peace, and accepting others.

The Minister outlined his ministry's priorities in the recovery phase, focusing on developing youth capabilities, enhancing social protection, and economic empowerment. These, he believes, are fundamental pillars for reconstruction. Salih called on youth to contribute to renouncing hate speech and utilizing media to promote awareness and national unity.

He emphasized that Sudan's future is not solely built on natural resources but on the abilities and minds of its people, particularly the youth. Youth and Sports Minister, Professor Ahmed Adam Ahmed, noted that the celebration comes at a time when Sudan needs to focus on population issues related to development. He highlighted that developing human resources means developing the country.

Minister Ahmed pointed out that women form the basis of the family and that individuals are the ones who build the nation. He also noted that youth represent the primary foundation for the country's development, necessitating the development of their capabilities and harnessing their energies. Ahmed stressed that youth are the hope for Sudan's future, citing their sacrifices and participation in reconstruction and development efforts.

Dr. Bthaina Hussein Mohamed Adam, Secretary-General of the National Population Council, stated that the occasion is not merely a ceremonial event but an opportunity to reaffirm that individuals are the foundation of development. She highlighted the need for investment in youth through education and employment and emphasized the importance of focusing on women and family protection.

The event also saw participation from Dr. Al-Nour Sheikh Al-Nour, Chairman of the Higher Council for Social Peace, who emphasized the need for unified efforts and a supportive leadership to achieve development.
