Service Cops Limited, a technology partner, has officially launched Kwaata Sente, a mobile-based credit solution, in Kampala on September 27. This digital lending platform brings together Centenary Bank, Airtel Money, gnuGrid Technologies, and Service Cops to expand access to short-term credit for eligible Airtel Money customers in Uganda. The solution allows customers to apply for loans through their mobile money wallets.

Kwaata Sente's partnership model involves Centenary Bank providing lending services, Airtel Money offering the mobile money platform and customer network, while gnuGrid Technologies supports credit assessment through digital credit-scoring capabilities. Service Cops provides the technology infrastructure that enables the loan management process through its Vantage Loan Management System (LMS). This platform connects the participating partners' systems, helping coordinate the administration of loans through digital channels.

The Kwaata Sente solution allows customers to borrow starting at Shs10,000, subject to eligibility, approval, and individual borrowing limits. The service is designed to reduce barriers to borrowing by allowing eligible customers to access credit without visiting a bank branch or providing conventional collateral. This aligns with the product's terms and approval requirements, making credit more accessible to a wider range of customers.

Centenary Bank Managing Director Godfrey Byekwaso highlighted the partnership's potential to extend the bank's services to a wider range of customers, including those who do not already hold accounts with the institution. He emphasized that customers do not need to be Centenary Bank customers to access these services, showcasing the potential of digital channels to widen access to financial services.

The launch of Kwaata Sente reflects growing collaboration between banks, telecommunications companies, and technology providers to develop digital financial products that reach customers beyond traditional banking channels. For Service Cops, Kwaata Sente builds on its experience providing technology for digital credit products, supporting lending operations across various credit solutions.

As digital lending expands, loan management systems play an important role in coordinating lending operations, tracking repayments, and monitoring loan portfolios. These functions help financial institutions manage digital credit products while maintaining oversight of their lending activities. Service Cops' technology expertise will contribute to Kwaata Sente, supporting the development of a sustainable digital credit ecosystem in Uganda.

Service Cops Limited has pledged continued innovation in digital lending following the official launch of Kwaata Sente. The company supports lending operations across personal and business loans, school fees financing, education loans, and other embedded credit solutions through its Vantage LMS. This solidifies its commitment to contributing to the growth of digital credit products in Uganda.
