The Association d'appui à l'éducation, à l'enfance et à la santé (ADEES) has donated educational and sports equipment to schools in Ngaye Mékhé, a commune in the Tivaouane department of western Senegal. The donation, made on Saturday, includes school supplies, sports equipment, and health materials for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative aims to support students and schools in the area.

The donated materials include paper, football and basketball jerseys, footballs, volleyballs, first aid kits, and boxes of chalk. Additionally, the local high school and middle school received mathematics, French, and physical science textbooks. Moussa Dia, coordinator of ADEES, stated that the sports equipment will help develop extracurricular activities and promote community values through sports.

According to Moussa Dia, ADEES decided to distribute the supplies before the start of the academic year to alleviate the burden on parents. Dia, a former teacher, has been involved in educational initiatives since 2002, when he created a pedagogical library for students. He emphasized his ongoing commitment to supporting the youth in Ngaye Mékhé.

As the director of Sports and Youth Activities at the Ministry of National Education, Moussa Dia continued to provide educational and sports equipment to schools. ADEES has expanded its donations to include all schools in the commune, following requests from various schools. This marks the sixth edition of ADEES' donation drive.

The ADEES association has previously limited its donations to a few schools but has now decided to generalize its support to all schools in the commune. Moussa Dia explained that the decision was made in response to numerous requests from schools and families struggling to provide educational materials for their children.

The donation also reflects ADEES' goal of promoting education and supporting local communities. By providing essential materials, ADEES aims to contribute to the development of students and schools in Ngaye Mékhé. The association's efforts have been ongoing for several years, demonstrating its commitment to the region.

Moussa Dia expressed his satisfaction with the donation drive, highlighting the positive impact it will have on students and schools. The ADEES association will continue to support education and youth development in Ngaye Mékhé, fostering growth and opportunities for the local community.
