Korali Urumuri was founded in April 2002 by a group of four people from different churches in the same parish who shared a passion for singing and serving God. In August 2003, the choir began performing on Fridays and occasionally on Sundays. Due to the popularity of their music, the choir was officially established in August 2004, with Ernestine Nyirabahizi as their leader.

In 2005, the choir was renamed Chorale Urumuri, and they have since continued to sing and spread the gospel. Over the years, the choir has produced various albums, including eight visual albums in 2018 and five audio albums in 2020. These projects aimed to share God's word with a wider audience, build their listeners' faith, and inspire hope.

Under the leadership of Nsengiyumva Philemon, Korali Urumuri has grown to have a large following of over 150 members. The choir's mission goes beyond spreading the gospel; they also aim to contribute to the development of their members and the Rwandan community through acts of charity, support for those in need, and other social initiatives.
