Police in Nairobi are investigating the murder of a 77-year-old security guard, George Wangaya, found dead in his house at a construction site along Chui Lane in Lang'ata. The motive behind the murder is not yet known. Wangaya worked as a security guard at the construction site. The body was recovered and taken to Montezuma Funeral Home for preservation pending a postmortem examination.
The incident was reported to the police, who launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding Wangaya's death and identify those responsible. Nairobi police boss Issa Mohamud confirmed that the body was at the funeral home awaiting a postmortem. The police are working to determine the cause of death and bring those responsible to justice.
This incident is not the only case of a mysterious death reported recently. In Makueni county, a decomposing body of a 60-year-old man, Michael Mutisya Musila, was discovered in Ivumbu Forest, Mbooni West subcounty. The body was found by villagers on Sunday, October 4, about 700 meters from his home. The police visited the scene, processed it, and removed the body to Machakos Funeral Home mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The police are also investigating the death of a 42-year-old man found dead in his house in Kathitini Market, Mukothima subcounty, Tharaka Nithi county. Residents reported a foul smell coming from the premises, leading police officers to break down the door and discover the body. Preliminary inquiries suggested that the deceased had recently separated from his wife and had been living alone.
According to police, the 42-year-old man had allegedly attempted to take his own life twice in the past. The scene was documented and processed before the body was removed to Marimanti Level 4 Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man's death are ongoing.
The three incidents have raised concerns about security and the need for swift investigations to bring perpetrators to justice. The police are urging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward and assist in the investigations. The cases are being handled with urgency to provide closure to the families of the deceased.
The police boss, Issa Mohamud, assured the public that the police are committed to solving the cases and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice. The incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement agencies to prevent and investigate crimes.
