The Jigawa State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against cattle rustling, arresting seven suspects and recovering eight cows and two operational vehicles. The suspects, who were apprehended during routine patrol operations, are members of a syndicate that has been terrorizing three local government areas of the state, including Garki, Jahun, and Miga. According to the PPRO of the Jigawa State Police Command, Shi'isu Adam, the arrest was made possible by actionable intelligence and timely information provided by vigilant members of the public. The suspects were intercepted by police personnel during a routine patrol, and two operational vehicles suspected to be used by the syndicate for their criminal activities were recovered. The police command has identified the suspects as Sulaiman Tijjani, Abdullahi Musa, Bala Muhd, Isah Adamu, Yusuf Sa'idu, Mansur Usaini, and Kaku Abubakar.
The police command has recovered a total of eight cows suspected to have been rustled by the syndicate. The recovered cows were part of the stolen livestock that the syndicate had been selling in various markets across the state. The police have also recovered two vehicles, a dark blue Golf with registration number WRA 158 FU and an ash Golf 3 wagon with registration number ABJ 493 HN, Abuja, which were used by the syndicate for their operations.
The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijjani Murtala, has commended the police personnel involved in the operation for their vigilance, courage, and professionalism. The commissioner also appreciated members of the public whose timely information assisted the command in apprehending the suspects and recovering the cows. The police command has stated that the arrested suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting operatives with useful information into their activities.

The police have listed the exhibits recovered during the operation, including the two vehicles and eight cows.
