Swiss luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe has introduced two new timepieces, the 5531G-012 and 5531G-013, as part of its Watch Art Grand Exhibition Milan 2026. These limited-edition watches are inspired by the city of Milan and feature a unique design that combines high horology, craftsmanship, and mechanical complexity. The watches boast a Calatrava case in white gold, measuring 40.2 mm in diameter and 11.49 mm in thickness.
The 5531G-012 and 5531G-013 timepieces feature a unique enamel cloisonné Grand Feu center, set on an 18-carat gold plate. The 5531G-012 represents Milan by day, with a luminous interpretation of the city's urban network, while the 5531G-013 depicts the city at night, with its streets and illuminated areas. These miniature decorations combine cartography and artisanal enamel work.
The watches have a World Time display, with 24 cities listed in Italian on the peripheral ring, and Milan highlighted in red. A 24-hour disk allows for the distinction between day and night zones in different time zones. The local time display is based on two white gold hands, with the hour hand featuring a design inspired by the Southern Cross constellation.
The caliber R 27 HU, a self-winding movement, powers the watches. It measures 32 mm in diameter and 8.5 mm in thickness, comprising 452 components and 45 jewels. The movement features two complications: World Time and minute repeater. The World Time function allows for the simultaneous display of time in 24 time zones, while the minute repeater strikes the local time in the selected time zone.
The minute repeater mechanism is a patented system that allows the wearer to select a city via the World Time display and trigger the repeater with a lateral slider. The watch then strikes the hours, quarters, and minutes corresponding to the local time of the selected city. The repeater uses two classic gongs, and its architecture aims to optimize the transmission of vibrations to the case.
The 5531G-012 and 5531G-013 are produced in extremely limited quantities, with only five pieces of each version available. The price for each watch is 794,600 euros, making them among the most exclusive timepieces presented by Patek Philippe at the Milan exhibition.
The watches come with interchangeable straps, with the 5531G-012 featuring a brown alligator leather strap and the 5531G-013 featuring a blue alligator leather strap. Both watches have a deployant clasp in white gold and are not designed for aquatic use, with only protection against humidity and dust.
