A violent clash between suspected rival cult groups in Osogbo, Osun State, resulted in two deaths and four injuries on Friday. The deceased were at a lounge with some friends when the assailants arrived, leading to a fight. The assailants allegedly subdued and killed two men, one of whom was hit on the head and died on the spot, while the other was shot. The resident described the scene as terrifying, with the community now living in fear.

The police spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the killings and provided further details about the incident. Ojelabi stated that the command was aware of a shooting incident suspected to have been perpetrated by cult groups around Oke Baale Area, Osogbo. The police identified one of the deceased as "Small Rugged," although his other names were not yet known.

Ojelabi also reported that four other people sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment by the police. The State Commissioner of Police has directed tactical teams to move out and apprehend those behind the nefarious act. The police van conveying the two corpses was observed along Station Road, Osogbo, on Friday evening.
