The Ogun State Government has announced the employment of over 7,000 teachers since the inception of the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration. This move is part of the government's sustained investment in strengthening teaching and learning across the state. The announcement was made during the 2026 World Teachers' Day celebration in Abeokuta, where the government also earmarked ₦24 billion for the provision and rehabilitation of critical education infrastructure.

The World Teachers' Day celebration, held at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, was attended by government officials, education administrators, teachers, union leaders, school proprietors, and other stakeholders. He commended teachers and education administrators in Ogun State for distinguishing themselves nationally and internationally.

The Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA) will continue to drive improvements in curriculum delivery, school management, technology, infrastructure, funding, and the welfare of teachers and learners. The governor disclosed that the OgunTEACh programme has become a model being emulated beyond Ogun State, following the recruitment of thousands of teachers through the initiative. He further announced the absorption of over 1,500 OgunTEACh interns into the mainstream civil service.

The governor presented cash awards to outstanding teachers, administrators, and schools in both public and private school categories. The first-prize winners in the Best Teacher categories received ₦2.5 million each, while the second- and third-place winners received ₦1.5 million and ₦1 million respectively.
