Mr William Kofi Adzowu, Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi East, has welcomed newly admitted kindergarten pupils to school as part of the "My First Day at School" initiative in the Municipality. The exercise aims to encourage school enrolment and create a positive learning environment for children beginning their formal education. Mr Adzowu visited Mampamhwe M/A School, Domeabra KG School, and Diawoso M/A School, interacting with pupils and encouraging them to take their education seriously.
During an interactive session with the pupils, Mr Adzowu emphasized the importance of education, assuring them of the Assembly's commitment to supporting their development. He encouraged the pupils to focus on their studies, listen to their teachers, and dream big, stating that education is the greatest tool they will ever be given. The MCE also pledged continued investment in learning infrastructure, teaching and learning materials, and the welfare of children across the Municipality.
As part of the exercise, the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly presented the newly admitted pupils with books, pencils, fruit drinks, biscuits, and other learning materials. This initiative aims to provide children with the necessary tools to excel in their early years of education. Mr Adzowu also appealed to parents to ensure that all children of school-going age are enrolled in school to give them the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for their future development.
Mr Kwabena Owusu Nketia, Municipal Director of Education, commended the Assembly for the initiative, highlighting the importance of collaboration between municipal authorities and education managers in improving enrolment and promoting quality early childhood development. He emphasized that sustained attention to early childhood education would help provide children with a strong foundation for their subsequent educational development.
