Nissan's performance brand NISMO has opened its first Performance Centre outside Japan at Ferntree Gully Nissan in Victoria, Australia. This move shows how NISMO plans to take its parts, restoration, and technical services into priority markets beyond Japan. The centre offers Australian customers a direct connection with NISMO's Omori Factory in Japan, supporting advanced vehicle restoration programmes and supplying authentic NISMO performance and heritage parts.

The NISMO Performance Centre Melbourne was officially opened on Sunday with enthusiasts and fans in attendance. The centre is staffed by factory-certified NISMO Meisters backed by NISMO's global expertise. It provides a pathway into NISMO's global heritage and restoration activities for owners of Nissan's best-known performance vehicles. The wider Australian programme covers performance parts and accessories, heritage support, technical expertise, restoration, and customer experiences.

Yutaka Sanada, global head of the NISMO brand, joined the opening through a recorded message, stating that Australia was a natural priority due to its mature performance culture, strong GT-R community, and clear appetite for authentic NISMO heritage, performance parts, technical expertise, and motorsport-driven experiences. Michael Banjanin, Dealer Principal at Ferntree Gully Nissan, said the opening was a natural extension of the dealership's connection with Nissan performance.

The NISMO Performance Centre offers restoration plans and next-phase expansion. In December 2025, NISMO announced plans to significantly expand its global restoration, restomod, and parts businesses, initially focusing on the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, R33, and R34, with additional vehicles and regional programmes to follow. NMC was established in 2022 through the integration of Nissan's motorsports and customisation subsidiaries.

The Australian rollout will be phased, with additional NISMO Performance Centres due to open in the country from 2027. The Melbourne centre is now open at Ferntree Gully Nissan, providing a dedicated home for the GT-R community. The centre's opening marks a significant milestone in NISMO's expansion plans.

NISMO's expansion into Australia reflects the country's strong performance culture and demand for authentic NISMO products and services. The centre's location at Ferntree Gully Nissan provides a strategic base for NISMO's operations in Australia. The partnership between NISMO and Ferntree Gully Nissan is expected to drive growth and innovation in the performance automotive sector.

The opening of the NISMO Performance Centre in Melbourne is a significant development for Nissan enthusiasts in Australia and beyond. With its comprehensive range of services and products, the centre is poised to become a hub for performance car enthusiasts. Key aspects of the centre's offerings include restoration, heritage parts, and technical expertise.
