The Nigerien Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdoulaye Seydou, chaired the official launch ceremony of a project to professionally integrate 1000 young graduates in Niamey on October 8, 2026. The project, themed "Investing in Youth, Building Economic Sovereignty for Niger," is financed by the Fund for Solidarity and Homeland Security (FSSP) to the tune of 341,500,000 CFA francs. This initiative aims to provide young graduates with skills enhancement, six months of professional immersion, and entrepreneurship support.

The project's primary goal is to enable at least 80% of the young graduates to access employment, internships, or economic activities. Through this initiative, the FSSP is fulfilling one of its commitments to supporting youth and women's employment and contributing to their economic autonomy. The Minister of Commerce and Industry praised the President of the Republic, General Abdourahamane Tiani, and the Prime Minister, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, for their constant attention to Nigerien youth.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry emphasized that the FSSP's financing of the project demonstrates that safeguarding the nation involves investing in the future of its children. The President of the FSSP, Brah Raki Djermakoye, noted that during this critical period of national refoundation, youth are not only the future but also the present force, resilience, and development pillar of the nation.

The President of the FSSP also stated that ensuring the future of Nigerien youth is crucial to building a strong, dignified, and prosperous Niger. The Council for National Security and Homeland Protection (CNSP) created the FSSP by ordinance on October 11, 2023, with a primary objective of promoting youth and women's employment.

The launch ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports and several guests. The President of the FSSP expressed gratitude to the contributors whose efforts are transforming patriotic solidarity into skills, jobs, and future prospects. This project is a significant step towards addressing youth unemployment and promoting economic growth in Niger.

The project's implementation will involve providing young graduates with the necessary skills and support to integrate into the workforce. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of the young graduates and their families. The project's success will be measured by the number of young graduates who secure employment or start their own businesses.

The Nigerien government, through the FSSP, is demonstrating its commitment to investing in the future of its youth. The project's launch marks a significant milestone in the country's efforts to promote youth employment and economic development.
