The government of Gezira state in Sudan has expressed appreciation for the initiative by the Sudanese Doctors Association in Qatar to set up a specialized medical camp for women's tumors at the Women's and Maternity Hospital in Wad Madani. The camp aims to provide medical treatment to patients and conduct specialized operations.
The Wali (Governor) of Gezira state, Professor Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, praised the efforts of Sudanese doctors in Qatar and their role in supporting the health sector during the war. The initiative includes the provision of medical equipment and devices worth 160,000 Qatari riyals. A delegation from the Sudanese Doctors Association in Qatar, led by Dr. Amani Ahmed Ali Khalifa, met with the Wali of Gezira state to discuss the initiative.
The Wali of Gezira state highlighted the efforts of his government in restoring and providing basic services, particularly in the health sector. He noted that the government is working to transition from restoring services to improving and upgrading them. The state government has already opened an emergency and injury hospital.
Dr. Amani Ahmed Ali Khalifa announced that all preparations for the medical camp have been completed, and the necessary medical equipment has arrived. Dr. Muhammad Taha, a consultant for women's tumors and a member of the delegation, stated that the initiative aims to assist patients and conduct complex operations in the field of women's tumors.
The medical camp also seeks to promote awareness and prevention of tumors, create a platform for cooperation and training, and exchange experiences between hospitals in Gezira state and Sudanese doctors in Qatar. Dr. Usama Abd al-Rahman Al-Faki, Director-General of the Ministry of Health and Minister Plenipotentiary, emphasized that the camp represents an opportunity to provide advanced specialized medical services to patients.
