American YouTube personality Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, has launched Abna Dakwa Village, a nearly $10 million community in Ghana's Eastern Region. The village aims to provide children and families with an alternative to child labour in cocoa-growing communities. The project was unveiled in a video released on September 19, 2026, and features a range of facilities, including a school, teacher housing, healthcare, clean water, solar power, and free school meals.

The Abna Dakwa Village project cost nearly $10 million and took about one year of planning and eight months of construction. The community is home to around 1,062 residents and was developed as part of a wider initiative focused on five key areas: education, clean water, healthcare, food, and economic opportunities. At the centre of the village is a school with a capacity for over 300 students, along with 10 homes for teachers, a medical clinic, and a community marketplace.

The village features a range of facilities designed to support local food production and income generation, including agricultural facilities, fish tanks, and a chicken coop. A football field and children's playground are also part of the development, providing children with spaces for recreation outside the classroom. Additionally, the project includes water towers and solar-powered water systems, allowing clean water to be supplied to the community.

Every student at the village school is expected to receive a free meal on every school day for the next five years, with support from The Rockefeller Foundation. The project aims to improve nutrition, school attendance, and learning, while helping to keep children away from child labour. The solar infrastructure is also intended to provide a long-term source of electricity for the community.

MrBeast, 28, is one of the world's biggest YouTube creators, with 515 million subscribers. He is the founder of Beast Philanthropy, which focuses on charitable giving and community development projects. The Abna Dakwa Village project is one of his most significant philanthropic efforts to date, and demonstrates his commitment to using his platform to make a positive impact.

The Abna Dakwa Village project was built on previously undeveloped land and features a range of sustainable facilities, including solar power and clean water systems. The project is expected to have a lasting impact on the community, providing children and families with access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. The village is a significant development in the region and has the potential to serve as a model for future community development projects.

The launch of Abna Dakwa Village has been well-received, with many praising MrBeast's commitment to philanthropy and community development. The project is a significant example of the impact that individuals can have on their communities, and demonstrates the potential for charitable giving and community development to drive positive change.
