The Malian government, through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Agency for the Promotion of Investments in Mali (API-Mali), is organizing the International Investment Forum "Mali Kura" on December 11-12, 2026, at the Bamako International Conference Center. The event is expected to attract over 1,000 participants, including 400 international investors, and will feature panels, B2B meetings, and presentations of priority investment projects.

The forum's objective is to position Mali as a reference investment destination in West Africa, according to Minister of Industry and Commerce Moussa Alassane Diallo. He stated that the goal is to make Mali the best investment destination in West Africa and change the narrative about the country. The minister highlighted recent reforms to the business environment, including fiscal incentives, special economic zones, and international guarantees.

The forum will focus on four main themes: industrialization and local transformation of raw materials, reasons to invest in Mali, securing investments, and financing productive investments. The event will also showcase priority investment projects and provide a platform for networking and business opportunities. Seven countries, including China, India, and Turkey, have been invited as guests of honor.

Ibrahim Ahamadou Touré, Director-General of API-Mali, presented the forum's objectives, program, and expected outcomes. He emphasized that the event is part of the country's economic transformation vision, led by President of the Transition, General Assimi Goïta. The forum aims to mobilize investors, sponsors, and partners, and to promote Mali's investment opportunities.

The Malian government has been working to improve the business environment, with a focus on attracting foreign investment. The forum is expected to provide a platform for investors to learn about opportunities in Mali and to network with local businesses and government officials. The event will also feature a presentation of projects and a discussion on the country's investment climate.

Key sectors for investment in Mali include agro-industries, mining and energy, digital, infrastructure, and livestock.
