The Malian government has adopted several decree projects to renew permits for gold and mineral substance research in the country. The decision was made during the Council of Ministers on September 30, 2026. The permits were renewed for several mining companies operating in the Kayes, Kéniéba, Kangaba, Sikasso, Yanfolila, and Bougouni regions. The goal is to allow the continuation of research work on areas that have shown favorable anomalies for mineral deposits.

The renewed permits concern companies such as Hongda Liujiu Mali Sarl, Ressources Robex Mali Sarl, Dansoko Gold Mine Sarl, M.B.C. Diffusion, Wagadou Explore Sarl, and Yong Xin Lines Sarl. These permits were initially granted between 2018 and 2022 but were affected by a suspension in permit renewals that occurred between December 2022 and March 2025. According to the authorities, the work carried out on the different areas has highlighted several anomalies that justify the continuation of exploration activities.

Eight permits are concerned by the first renewal, including the permit attributed to Hongda Liujiu Mali Sarl for the Diata-Moussala-Nord area in the Kayes region. Ressources Robex Mali Sarl is also concerned by several renewals, including the permit for the Sanoula area in the Kéniéba region and those for Mininko and Gladié-Est in the Sikasso region. The permits had initially been attributed to other companies before being transferred to Ressources Robex Mali SARL.

The first renewal also concerns the permit attributed to Dansoko Gold Mine Sarlu in the Bala area of the Kangaba region, as well as that of Wagadou Explore Sarl in the Goualafara area of the Yanfolila region. Two other permits, located in Kinia and Kandjila-Ouest in the Bougouni region, concern the Yong Xin Mines Sarl company. The concerned companies had obtained their research permits between 2018 and 2022.

The renewal of permits allows the concerned companies to continue their research work for an additional three-year period, renewable once. The decision to renew the permits was made following requests from the companies and in accordance with the provisions of the Mining Code. The Malian government's decision aims to allow the companies to continue their exploration work and potentially discover economically exploitable mineral deposits.

In addition to the first renewals, the government has also adopted a decree project for the second renewal of the gold and mineral substance research permit attributed to Africa Mining Sarl in the Dandoko area of the Kéniéba region. The permit was initially granted in 2017 and had been renewed for the first time in 2020. The second renewal allows Africa Mining Sarl to continue its research work on the Dandoko area, which has shown promising results.

The renewal of these permits marks the resumption of the process of granting and renewing mining research permits in Mali after a period of suspension. The decision provides a new framework for the concerned companies to continue their exploration work and assess the mineral potential of the areas concerned. The Malian government aims to promote the development of the mining sector, which is an important part of the country's economy.
