Ensign Global University (EGU) has matriculated a new cohort of Master of Public Health (MPH) students, reaffirming its commitment to training skilled public health professionals and future leaders. The ceremony officially initiated the students into the university community and marked the beginning of their academic and professional journey in public health. This development is part of EGU's efforts to strengthen its public health education programs.

Professor Stephen Alder, President of EGU, in his keynote address, challenged the students to embrace the rigours of the MPH programme. He stated that the difficulties they would encounter were intended to stretch their abilities and prepare them for leadership in public health. Professor Alder encouraged the students to remain committed to the university's core values of leadership, professionalism, and entrepreneurship.

Professor Alder noted that the university was committed to producing public health professionals who would not only understand health challenges but also have the capacity to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to improve the wellbeing of communities. He urged the students to make the most of the opportunities available to them, build strong professional networks, and remain focused on using their knowledge and skills to create positive change in Ghana and beyond.

Speaking on behalf of the matriculants, Madam Lawrencia Amoah expressed their commitment to teamwork and collaboration throughout their academic journey. She noted that public health required professionals from different disciplines to work together to understand and address complex health challenges. This approach is expected to foster a collaborative learning environment among the students.

As part of the event, the matriculants also signed the matricula, a traditional and symbolic feature of the university's matriculation ceremony, officially adding their names to the institution's records. Present at the ceremony were representatives of the Ensign Graduate Students Association (E-GRASAG) and Brigham Young University. The presence of these groups highlights the university's connections with other academic and professional bodies.

The university also announced new initiatives aimed at expanding access to quality public health education, including scholarship opportunities for members of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area. The initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen the university's relationship with its host community. This move is expected to promote greater collaboration and benefit the local community.

Ensign Global University has also secured scholarship partnership agreements with key national health organisations and institutions as part of its broader strategy to promote public health education and develop professionals capable of contributing to Ghana's health sector. These partnerships will likely enhance the university's capacity to produce highly skilled public health professionals.
