Pertinence Group, a leading organisation in Nigeria, recently marked its 14th anniversary with a renewed focus on wealth creation, entrepreneurship, and human development. The group has had a significant impact on individuals and families beyond its commercial operations. At the Wealth Summit 2026, themed “The Real Money of Lagos,” experts emphasised the need for Nigerians to rethink their approach to wealth creation. The summit was part of the group’s anniversary celebrations.

Cosmas Maduka, Founder of Coscharis Group, urged Nigerians to take greater responsibility for their personal development and economic outcomes. He stressed the importance of focus, resilience, and seizing opportunities. According to Maduka, success requires individuals to stop blaming their circumstances, families, or government for their challenges. A change in mindset is necessary to achieve meaningful progress, he added.

Maduka emphasised that knowledge is a valuable form of investment, and self-awareness is critical to reaching one’s potential. He encouraged participants to take action rather than merely wishing for change. Persistence, pressure, and a willingness to challenge oneself can help turn personal ambitions into reality. Maduka also highlighted the importance of understanding that money goes beyond cash and has different levels that must be managed.

Ugochukwu Omeogu, a Business Consultant, said changing an individual’s mindset can significantly alter life circumstances. Environmental factors can influence the opportunities available to people, he added. Omeogu identified knowledge, mentorship, and strategy as critical components of wealth creation. He stressed that acquiring knowledge alone is insufficient without practical application.

Omeogu distinguished between hearing and listening, saying effective learning requires mental engagement. He encouraged participants not to be distracted by the achievements of others but to draw inspiration from them. Developing a clear vision and understanding one’s purpose is essential, he added. Omeogu also highlighted the importance of mentorship in acquiring experiential knowledge.

The summit was part of Pertinence Group’s 14th anniversary celebrations, during which the organisation highlighted its impact across various sectors, including real estate, finance, technology, agriculture, education, and hospitality. Co-Founder Wisdom Ezekiel said the organisation’s 14-year journey had been defined by business growth and opportunities created for people within its ecosystem. Members of the ecosystem have earned significant commissions, and hundreds of cars have been given out as rewards.

The organisation has committed hundreds of millions of naira to supporting businesses and individuals. Its impact has extended beyond financial rewards to human capital development, with employees given opportunities to acquire skills and progress into leadership positions. The organisation’s next phase will focus on creating more opportunities, supporting entrepreneurs, and developing people. Its anniversary represents the individuals and businesses whose trajectories have been influenced by the opportunities created through its ecosystem.
