The Kenya Meteorological Department has also warned of strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots over parts of Turkana, Samburu, and Marsabit. Mandera will experience light showers overnight and into the morning, with temperatures tying with Turkana as the hottest location in the forecast at 38°C. Moyale in Marsabit is expected to receive light morning rain, with temperatures ranging between 17°C and 27°C.

In Nairobi and Central Kenya, the capital will start Sunday with cloudy skies and some sunny breaks before light afternoon showers are likely over scattered areas. Temperatures in Nairobi will range between 15°C and 27°C. Similar afternoon showers are forecast for Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Embu, Isiolo, Nyeri, and Kajiado. Kiambu and Murang'a may see light rain at various points throughout the day.

Nyandarua will record the coldest temperature in the forecast, with a low of 6°C. Elgeyo Marakwet faces light afternoon showers accompanied by thunder and lightning. Most of western Kenya, the Rift Valley, and Nyanza are expected to remain largely dry, though Bungoma, Busia, Siaya, and Kisumu have a chance of light morning rain.

The department also reported rainfall in various parts of the country in the 24 hours to 9 am on October 3, 2026, with Suba recording 7.3 mm, Kisii recording 4.9 mm, and Malindi recording a trace amount. Sunrise and sunset times were also provided, with Nairobi experiencing sunrise at 6:17 am and sunset at 6:25 pm.
