The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, disclosed that the Governor approved the N3.659 billion for the payment of pension, gratuities, and death benefits to retirees and families of deceased public servants. The beneficiaries include 210 Local Government retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme, who will receive N515 million, and 1,129 beneficiaries under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
A breakdown of the 1,129 beneficiaries under the Contributory Pension Scheme includes 402 retirees from the State Service and 727 retirees from the Local Government Councils, who will receive a combined N3.144 billion. The Commissioner emphasized that the latest intervention underscores the administration's sustained commitment to addressing pension liabilities while strengthening the integrity and long-term sustainability of Kaduna State's pension system.
