John Boadu has been elected National Chairman of Ghana's New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the party's national delegates conference in Kumasi. He secured 2,888 votes to claim the position. Boadu is expected to work with the newly elected executives as the party begins preparations for the next electoral cycle. His election marks a significant return to the NPP's national leadership for the former General Secretary.

Justin Frimpong Kodua retained the position of General Secretary after securing 4,486 votes in the contest. The outcome places Kodua and Boadu in two of the party's most influential administrative positions. Despite their previous contest for the General Secretary position at the NPP's 2022 National Delegates Conference, the two politicians will now work jointly in coordinating the NPP's national organisation.

Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover was elected National Organiser after receiving 2,964 votes, while Alfred Kwadwo Thompson secured the position of National Treasurer with 2,243 votes. The party also elected three National Vice Chairpersons from a field of 13 candidates. Kojo Fosu Boadu emerged as First Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye was elected Second Vice Chairman, while Nana Akomea secured the position of Third Vice Chairman.

Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected National Communications Director without a contest, becoming responsible for overseeing the party's national communications machinery. The special wing positions also produced new officeholders, with Abanga Yakubu Fuseni elected National Youth Organiser and Mavis Hawa Koomson securing the position of National Women's Organiser.

Mohammed Ali Suraj was elected National Nasara Organiser after obtaining 372 votes. He defeated Salim Mansuru Bamba, who received 311 votes, and Awal Mohammed, who secured 106 votes. The results have consequently produced a new national executive configuration that will now assume responsibility for coordinating the NPP's organisational structures, political activities and national administration.

The election marks the formal beginning of Boadu's tenure as National Chairman, placing him at the centre of the party's efforts to strengthen its organisation following the completion of the internal elections. With the national executive elections concluded, the new leadership is expected to turn its attention towards consolidating the party's structures and coordinating its activities ahead of the 2028 general election.

Boadu and the other newly elected executives will have responsibility for working with the party's presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and the wider membership as the NPP seeks to organise its national structures and prepare for the next presidential and parliamentary contests. The new executive team will play a crucial role in the party's preparations for the upcoming elections.
