InterstellarM2M and WorldTel Corporation have signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement to develop a carbon-credit trading platform, Ceario Trader, aimed at supporting Liberia's tree planting and sustainable agriculture efforts. The platform will enable buyers and sellers to trade national and global credits on an open market. This initiative is part of a broader effort to mitigate the effects of climate change in Liberia and other countries. The alliance brings together the strengths of both companies in technology, connectivity, and customer delivery.
The Ceario Trader platform is designed to support international, regional, and national climate carbon credit regulations. It will allow traders, agents, registries, sellers, and buyers to participate in the platform, enabling the rescaling, tracking, and retiring of each trade. InterstellarM2M's Chairman, Gerald F.B. Cooper, argues that the traditional NGO funding model has failed since the Kyoto Protocol, and that market forces can provide a more effective solution to funding tree planting and sustainable agriculture efforts.
The alliance builds on InterstellarM2M's 2024 tripartite agreement with Liberian carbon and environmental partners, including Liberia Credit Carbon Development and Trading Corporation, LibCarbon.com, and Africa Environmental Watch. This agreement aimed to develop a "nature solution" under a program to grow "the right trees" to combat climate change. Cooper notes that farmers in Liberia face pressure from mining and cash crops that clear forests, and that carbon cash could change that calculation for communities.
Gerald Cooper, also Chairman of Trinity Agro Corporation, which focuses on environmentally friendly farming, faults the NGO model for not providing open, free-market funding to those in need and willing to plant trees to mitigate climate change. He argues that the mandatory intervention system is outdated and has failed to solve global warming caused by CO2 and other emission gases since the Kyoto Protocol adoption.
Shon M. Cooper, visionary, designer, and head of R&D at InterstellarM2M, notes that the agreement marks an important step in the company's mission to provide customizable solutions to its clients via combining generational tech through the horizontal technology of "Internet of Things (IoT)". The partnership with WorldTel Corporation will bring together complementary strengths in technology, connectivity, and customer delivery to create meaningful end-to-end values for the organizations they serve.
WorldTel Corporation is pleased to formalize this strategic alliance with InterstellarM2M, and its co-founder and Vice President, Richard Butler, states that together, they are positioned to deliver integrated solutions that support customers' evolving communications needs and help them compete in an increasingly connected global carbon credits marketplace.
The partnership between InterstellarM2M and WorldTel is being announced as the world debates climate change mitigation efforts at Climate Week NYC 2026 and the United Nations General Assembly meets ahead of the UN climate summit (COP31) this coming November. The alliance aims to provide a sustainable solution to funding tree planting and sustainable agriculture efforts in Liberia and other countries.
