The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Engineer Usman Maijama'a Kallamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency by-election. A total of 46,551 votes were declared valid, while 750 votes were rejected. Professor Gurama stated that Engineer Usman Maijama'a Kallamu's victory was due to his securing the highest number of valid votes.
The by-election was held to fill the vacant position of the Member Representing the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. The position became vacant following the death of Honourable Yaya Bauchi Tongo, who died on June 12, 2026, at the age of 62.
