The Guinean Agency for Employment and Entrepreneurship Promotion (AGUIPE-E) initiated a training session on September 21, 2026, in Boké, Guinea, for 100 young individuals. The program, which will last for one week, aims to equip 60 participants with job search techniques and 40 with entrepreneurship skills. This initiative is part of the Independence Week celebrations, spearheaded by the Ministry of Employment, Labor, and Social Protection.
The training seeks to enhance the beneficiaries' capacities, improve their readiness for professional integration, and develop their abilities in creating and managing entrepreneurial activities. According to Paul Dassima Kourouma, the regional head of AGUIPE-E in Boké, this is the first initiative of its kind in the region and plans are underway to extend it to other administrative regions in the country.
Kourouma also requested the involvement of mining companies operating in the Boké region to support initiatives that promote the training and professional integration of young people. The mining sector's support is crucial for the success and sustainability of such programs.
Aboubacar Kéita, the regional representative of the National Office for Vocational Training and Development (ONFPP), praised the launch of the training session, describing it as a "beautiful independence gift" for the youth of Kakandé. He emphasized that the training would provide young people with skills that could enhance their socio-professional integration and adaptability to job market demands.
Ténen Doumbouya, the spokesperson for mining companies, welcomed the initiative and expressed the sector's willingness to support actions that facilitate young people's access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. This collaboration is seen as a positive step towards addressing youth unemployment in the region.
The ceremony, presided over by Hadja Gnalen Condé, the cabinet director of the Boké Governorate, on behalf of local authorities, concluded with the distribution of partnership letters to representatives of the WASE and SMB mining companies. This marks the beginning of a collaborative dynamic in favor of the training and professional integration of young people in the region.
