Geita Municipal Council is calling on local and foreign investors to explore emerging business opportunities in the municipality, driven by the expansion of mining activities. Council Director Yefred Myenzi highlighted the growing demand for services such as restaurants, food supplies, hotels, and residential buildings. He noted that hotels in Geita currently charge between 150,000/- and 300,000/- per day, indicating a significant opportunity for investment in the hospitality sector.

Myenzi emphasized that rental housing is another major investment opportunity in Geita, driven by growing demand for rental properties. He also pointed out potential for gold concentrate processing, as the sector still requires more investors to expand mineral processing activities. Additionally, industrial construction and production of livestock products are among the opportunities available in the municipality. These areas offer investors a chance to tap into the growing economy driven by mining activities.

To facilitate investment, Geita Municipal Council has created a favourable investment environment through infrastructure development, including roads, health centres, a regional referral hospital, and dispensaries. The council has identified and surveyed areas for investment, including the President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan Exhibition and Investment Area. This area is expected to attract investors and provide a platform for economic growth.

Myenzi assured prospective investors that the council is committed to facilitating access to services required to establish and operate businesses. He noted that peace and security have been strengthened, which are essential factors in attracting investors and facilitating economic activities. The municipality has designated between 22 and 100 acres for industrial development, with some investors already expressing interest.

The council has taken measures to expand the paved road network, making travel and transportation easier in various parts of the municipality. With funding from the World Bank, the council implemented a project that facilitated construction of 17 kilometres of roads to paved standards, increasing the municipality's paved road network to 41 kilometres. This improved infrastructure is expected to support economic growth and attract investment.

Prospective investors can visit the Geita Municipal Council offices to acquire land and access necessary services in accordance with established procedures. The council's Land and Administration Department is ready to assist investors, enabling them to acquire land and access necessary services. This streamlined process is expected to encourage investment and support economic growth in the municipality.

Geita Municipal Council is urging investors to take advantage of the available opportunities, rather than buying land from brokers at inflated prices. The council has plots available for investment and is ready to direct prospective investors to suitable areas. With its favourable investment environment and growing economy, Geita is an attractive destination for investors looking to tap into the mining sector and other emerging opportunities.
