The Société Béninoise d'Énergie Électrique (SBEE) has informed its customers that several areas in Benin will experience electricity outages on October 8 from 10am to 3pm. The outages are necessary for maintenance and project work in the Grand-Nokoué and Nord zones. The SBEE has apologized for the inconvenience and urged residents to take necessary precautions to avoid accidents.
In the Djougou area, project work (CABZ) will affect several localities, including Batoulou, Béléfoungou, Sosso, Kolokondé, Foumbéa, and their surroundings. Meanwhile, in the Grand-Nokoué zone, maintenance work is scheduled for the same time period. The areas of Onigbolo, Pobè Centre, Iganan, Itadjèbou, Tasso, Agnizè, Ikpinlê, Wokon, Ayivè, Gasso, Bossa, Afesseda, the Préfecture, the CNSR, Adja Ouèrè, and Ouinhi Centre will be impacted in Pobè.
The outages will also affect Abomey-Calavi, where Akassato, Zopah, and Zoca will experience disruptions, as well as Houêgbo, Toffo, Sêhouê, and Ayou in Ouidah. In Cotonou-Est, the areas of Sodjêatinmin, Ciné Concorde, and Irédé will be affected. Lokossa will also experience outages, impacting Agnivêdji, Tchicômey, Zongo, the CHD, the ENSET, the IUT, the Tribunal Atikpéta, and the Hôtel de Ville de Comê.
In the Nord zone, several sectors of Bohicon will be without electricity, including Gnindjazoun, Avogbanan, Kpassagon, Dan, Tindji, Zakpota, Kpozoun, Zahla, Domey, Côvê, Zangnannado, Gbannanmin, and Agonlin Houégbo. The areas of Tranza, Dépôt, Camp Adagbe, Boundarou, Albarika, Thian, and Tourou in Parakou will also be impacted.
The regions of Natitingou, Dassa, Kandi, and others will also experience outages. In Natitingou, Kouandé, Wassa Péhunco, and Kérou will be affected, while in Dassa, Savalou, Ottola, Doumê, Tchêtti, Bantê, and Pira will experience disruptions. In Kandi, the areas of Kandifô, Bensékou, Liboussou, Piami, Segbana, and Libantè will be impacted.
Additional maintenance work will be conducted in Djougou from 11am to 3pm, affecting Dompagou, Nalohou, Copargo, Birni, and Tigninti. The SBEE has warned that surrounding areas may also be affected by the outages.
The SBEE has stated that the work aims to reinforce the performance of the electrical network and has apologized for the inconvenience caused. The company reminds the public to consider the entire network as being under tension, even during outages, and to take necessary precautions to avoid accidents.
