Mobile Number System Transition
The Gambia is transitioning its mobile number system from 7 digits to 9 digits, according to a phased plan.
GAMCEL customers will be part of the second phase of the migration and their existing numbers will gain the '89' prefix when their phase starts.
Customers will retain their existing SIM cards, credit, contacts, and customer relationships during the transition.
