Evidence Action, an international non-profit organization, is currently seeking a qualified Logistics Officer/Driver to join their team in Kamuli, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for authorized personnel, materials, and goods. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless logistical support of Evidence Action's operations in Uganda, where the organization plays a significant role in public health, primarily through clean water access initiatives.

The Logistics Officer/Driver will be responsible for driving organizational vehicles, maintaining meticulous vehicle records, and providing administrative support as needed. Key duties include transporting authorized passengers, luggage, and items while ensuring a comfortable and secure journey. The role holder must ensure timely attendance at designated pick-up locations, adhere to schedules, and maintain punctuality. Additionally, they will be responsible for delivering important documents, packages, and materials to required destinations while ensuring secure and timely delivery.

The Logistics Officer/Driver will also be responsible for managing vehicle fueling, maintaining accurate records of fuel consumption, and ensuring the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior. They must keep up-to-date, accurate, and detailed records of trip schedules, daily mileage, vehicle condition reports, and other relevant reports. These records will be presented to management as required. The role holder will also provide assistance to passengers in disembarking, loading, and unloading staff luggage and materials.

In terms of vehicle care, the Logistics Officer/Driver will carry out routine checks on the assigned vehicle(s) to ensure compliance with established safety and security standards. They must inspect fluid levels, check tire pressure, and ensure timely servicing. The role holder will also be responsible for promptly reporting any maintenance needs and adhering to scheduled maintenance to ensure proper functioning of the vehicle.

The Logistics Officer/Driver will also be required to work collaboratively with the transport office to ensure that licenses, parking stickers, insurance, and all other necessary documentation are fulfilled and up to date. They must comply with safe driving practices and adhere strictly to the Road Safety Act, prioritizing the safety of all road users. The role holder will also ensure the availability of all required documents and supplies, including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, and first aid kits.

In addition to logistical and vehicle care responsibilities, the Logistics Officer/Driver will also provide support to the Assistant Office Administration in maintaining proper records of office equipment inventory and keeping the office tidy. They will also support other departments on select office activities, such as printing, scanning, and filing. The role holder must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be able to provide timely logistical support in terms of passenger/parcels pick-up and drop-off, ensuring passenger and vehicle safety.
