The Ivoirian government has taken a significant step towards developing the country's industrial sector with the unveiling of a draft plan for a new industrial zone in Tiassalé. The proposed zone, located at the eastern entrance of the city, just before the bridge, is expected to host various types of industries, as well as spaces for administration, healthcare, and banking.

According to Cédric Tanoh, a study officer at the New Agency for Environmental Management and Urban Planning (ANGE-PU), the project aligns with the city's Master Urban Planning (PUD) and aims to promote sustainable development and territorial attractiveness. The industrial zone will also feature a green belt with trees to absorb some of the industrial emissions.

The first deputy mayor, Séraphin N'guessan, emphasized that the project will contribute to local economic development and improve living conditions for residents. He noted that the new industrial zone is designed to meet the growing demand for local processing of raw materials produced in the department of Tiassalé and its surroundings, while creating job opportunities for young people.

N'guessan also addressed concerns about the relocation of affected populations, stating that a solution has been found for those impacted. The families have been relocated to the "Symbiose" lotissement site, near the industrial zone, on plots of land sold by the customary rights holders at a fixed price of 350,000 FCFA, payable over six months.

The deputy mayor urged residents to support the project, highlighting that the municipal council is merely facilitating the initiative in the best interest of the community. Two industrial units are already operational on the site, which is expected to drive economic growth and development in the region.

The project is part of a broader effort to promote industrialization and economic diversification in Côte d'Ivoire. The government aims to create a favorable business environment, attracting investment and stimulating job creation. The new industrial zone in Tiassalé is expected to play a significant role in achieving these objectives.

With the draft plan presented, the next steps involve securing funding and implementing the project. The government will need to work closely with stakeholders, including local residents, businesses, and investors, to ensure the successful development of the industrial zone and its integration into the local economy.
