The Endeavour Foundation has announced its "Rentrée Solidaire" initiative for 2026, aiming to support 333 students in Senegal. This initiative is part of the foundation's efforts to promote education and equal opportunities in the country. The program provides assistance to students from Dakar and the Kédougou region, where the Sabodala-Massawa mining complex is located.
The "Rentrée Solidaire" initiative encompasses three programs designed to support students at different stages of their academic journey. The programs include "Pépites d'Or", which rewards children of employees who have obtained a diploma; "Jeunes en Scolarité", which prevents school dropout; and "Élites de demain", which supports students with high potential from host communities.
Under the "Pépites d'Or" program, 254 children were recognized and rewarded in 2026. These children receive academic support and school supplies. The "Jeunes en Scolarité" program benefits 77 young people from communities near Endeavour's sites and projects. This program provides them with a scholarship and helps prevent school dropout.
The "Élites de demain" program supports two Senegalese students in 2026 with university scholarships and internships within Endeavour's operations and regional office. This program aims to equip students with a first professional experience. Aziz Sy, Vice-President of Public Affairs for Senegal, Guinea, and Mali at Endeavour Mining, emphasized the importance of giving young people the means to achieve their potential.
The Endeavour Foundation was created in 2021 and operates in several areas, including education, health, access to water and electricity, and socio-economic development of communities in Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, and Senegal. The foundation's education program aims to support students from primary to higher education.
Bintou Keita, a student from Makhana, is one of the beneficiaries of the "Jeunes en Scolarité" program. She receives a scholarship and school supplies, enabling her to continue her studies. The foundation's initiatives have a positive impact on the lives of young people in Senegal.
The "Rentrée Solidaire" initiative is an annual event that mobilizes Endeavour's employees, local communities, and partners around education. The foundation's efforts demonstrate its commitment to promoting education and equal opportunities in Senegal.
