Mansoura University, led by Dr. Sherif Khatter, is participating in the 14th University Sports Week and Higher Institutes, held at Minya University from September 25 to 30, 2026. The event is under the slogan "From the heart of Upper Egypt.. We create." The university's students are competing in various scientific, artistic, sports, and scouting activities. The event is sponsored by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abdel Aziz Kansoua.
Students from Mansoura University achieved outstanding results in athletics competitions, winning 5 medals, including 1 gold and 4 bronze medals. They also secured advanced positions in several competitions. The university's chess teams, comprising male and female students, continue to compete in the championship. University students also participated in scientific and artistic exhibitions, as well as scouting activities.
In athletics, Nora Abdo Abdel Hamid secured first place and a gold medal in the long jump, in addition to a bronze medal in shot put. Loui Saleh Abdel Samie won bronze medals in shot put and discus throw. Shad Kamal El-Sayed secured a bronze medal in the 4x100m mixed relay, along with fourth place in javelin throw. Nora Hosam Tharwat ranked fourth in the long jump.
The athletics team is supervised by Ehab El-Saeidi, Director of Sports Activity, Abdel Moneim Abdel Rabah, game supervisor, and Naglaa Fathi, sports activity supervisor. In chess, Mansoura University's teams continue to compete in the tournament, following the Swiss system over 7 rounds. The team is close to qualifying for the semi-finals, with strong competition from participating university teams.
Ayah Ibrahim Zahri received the best performance award in the fourth round, recognized for her performance during the competitions. The chess team is supervised by Ehab Radi, Director of Social Activity, and Hayam Ragab, student supervisor. In scientific and technological activities, Mansoura University students participated in a competition for the best presentation and idea serving society and the environment.
Students showcased several innovative ideas and technological applications. They also participated in a medical electronic device competition. The scientific exhibition was opened by Dr. Essam Farhat, President of Minya University, who inspected university pavilions and reviewed student projects and innovations. The projects included scientific ideas and technological applications, reflecting students' interest in research, innovation, and technology.
The scientific and technological activity is supervised by Hamada Abdel Aziz, Director of Scientific and Technological Activity, and Hatem Darwish, activity supervisor. University students also participated in a fine art exhibition, presenting diverse artworks reflecting their talents and ability to utilize colors and materials to express different ideas and artistic visions.
