Dr. Haoua Koné-Tago, a specialist in information and communication technologies for education (TICE), has dedicated over 35 years to harnessing technology to enhance learning, transmission, and reduce inequalities. Her journey began in 1995 when she was initiated into computer science at the Lycée Technique de Ouagadougou. This marked the beginning of her exploration into the potential of digital tools in education.
Dr. Koné-Tago's interest in digital technology was further fueled in 1997 when she received her first internet training in Benin, courtesy of the German project UNEVOC/UNESCO. This opportunity enabled her to secure funding for the purchase of a computer and internet connection for her school, facilitating the creation of the UNEVOC/UNESCO cell at the Collège d'Enseignement Technique.
In 2003, Dr. Koné-Tago founded the Réseau national pour l'accès des femmes aux nouvelles technologies de l'information et de la communication (RENAF-NTIC), a network aimed at promoting women's access to new technologies. Through this initiative, she seeks to address the digital divide and provide women with the skills and confidence needed to participate in the digital economy.
Dr. Koné-Tago's commitment to education and digital inclusion has led her to pursue various academic and professional endeavors. She holds a master's degree in multimedia communication from the University of Le Mans, a master's degree in distance education from the University of Poitiers, and a doctorate in education from Atlantic International University.
