Madbouly pointed out that the international community is witnessing a decline in trust in the effectiveness of collective action and the multilateral system. He noted that the Global South, comprising the majority of the world's population, is most affected by the decline of international law and the weakness of global governance frameworks. The Prime Minister emphasized that restoring trust requires three interrelated pillars: justice in representation and decision-making, justice in applying the law, and justice in distributing development opportunities and transformation.
The Prime Minister stated that Egypt, as a founding member of the UN, believes that restoring trust requires a return to the organization's original promises and purposes, including equal sovereignty for states, respect for the law, and peaceful resolution of conflicts. He emphasized that the international community must work together to achieve these goals and enable people to benefit from the fruits of scientific progress. Madbouly also stressed that the effectiveness and sustainability of the multilateral system depend on the implementation of these principles.
The Prime Minister addressed the Palestinian issue, stating that it remains a crucial test of the international system's credibility. He expressed concern over the ongoing suffering and violations against the Palestinian people, emphasizing that these conditions must not become a norm or a prolonged crisis. Madbouly called for the implementation of the Trump peace plan and the Sharm El-Sheikh summit, ensuring a complete and sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the prevention of Israeli violations.
Madbouly reiterated Egypt's firm rejection of any attempt to displace the Palestinian people from their land, whether in Gaza, the West Bank, or East Jerusalem. He emphasized that the international community has a clear responsibility to stop Israeli violations and that peace cannot be achieved by uprooting a people from their land.
