The Arabic language exam for the preparatory certificate will consist of 27 questions, divided into two types: multiple-choice and essay. The multiple-choice section will comprise 12 questions, worth 12 marks, which accounts for 30% of the total marks. The essay section will have 15 questions, worth 28 marks, making up 70% of the total marks. This distribution aims to evaluate students' comprehension, analytical, and writing skills.
The Ministry of Education has outlined general controls for the exam paper at the stage level. These controls include that the questions must be within the targeted curriculum, distributed according to the learning outcomes of the subject, and cover various levels of difficulty to distinguish between students' levels of academic achievement. Additionally, the questions must be clear, specific, and progressive, ranging from easier to more challenging.
The exam paper must also balance different cognitive levels, be well-formatted, and include essential data such as the stage, grade, subject, time, grade, semester, and exam date. Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized the importance of quality in the exam paper's layout, including font size, type, and line spacing, to ensure readability.
When it comes to marking the exam, the Ministry has specified that attention will be given to the clarity of thought, organization, number, style, and grammar in the expression section. In the writing section, marks will be awarded based on the shape of letters, their connection, size, and regularity on the line, as well as adherence to copying and drawing rules.
The content of the exam questions will cover what has been studied in the Arabic language curriculum, as determined by the subject's consultant at the Ministry of Education. This ensures that students are tested on the material they have studied throughout the semester.
