Egyptian Minister of Higher Education Abdelaziz Qanswa, accompanied by university officials, visited Burg El Arab Technological University to oversee the start of the 2026/2027 academic year. The visit aimed to assess the university's readiness and the regularity of the educational process. Qanswa began his tour by paying respects, alongside university leaders and students.
During his visit, Qanswa inspected various lecture halls, classrooms, and laboratories to ensure that the educational process was running smoothly and that faculty members and supporting staff were in attendance. He also engaged in discussions with students, listening to their opinions and feedback on the educational process and services provided.
The minister emphasized the importance of providing a comprehensive educational environment that supports students and meets their needs throughout their academic years. He highlighted that technological universities have become a primary pathway in the higher education system to prepare qualified technical and technological cadres with the necessary skills to meet local, regional, and international job market needs.
Qanswa pointed out that the system of technological universities has expanded to include more universities, programs, and specializations, with an increase in the number of enrolled students. This reflects growing interest in this educational path and rising demand for it. He stressed the need to expand modern programs and specializations related to the needs of priority industrial and productive sectors.
The minister emphasized the importance of preparing clear executive plans for technological universities, including specific goals, measurable performance indicators, and precise timelines. This allows for monitoring progress rates and improving performance efficiency. He also highlighted the need to expand the application of the cooperative education system, develop laboratories and workshops, and strengthen ties between universities and industrial institutions.
Qanswa underscored the importance of establishing and developing technological excellence centers to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. He also emphasized the role of universities in serving society and industrial sectors, linking educational outcomes to economic needs and job market requirements.
University President Mohamed El-Gohary explained that the university designs its academic programs based on specialized studies of job market needs and economic activities. The university aims to integrate curriculum components, learning and training methods, and evaluation approaches to enhance the applied aspect of the educational process and align it with technological education and industrial sector requirements.
