The Egyptian Ministry of Local Development and Environment recently convened a meeting to review the progress of land regularization applications submitted by citizens. The meeting was held in line with directives from Minister of Local Development and Environment, Dr. Manal Awad, and Head of the State Land Recovery Committee, Field Marshal Osama Askar. The meeting was attended by representatives from various entities, including the Egyptian Armed Forces and the Egyptian General Authority for Surveying.

The meeting aimed to discuss the current status of land regularization applications and the measures being taken to expedite the process. According to the Ministry, the land regularization process involves several stages, including inspection, pricing, and approval. The Ministry emphasized that the process is being carried out in accordance with Law No. 168 of 2025 and its executive regulations. The meeting also reviewed the mechanism of work on the national platform for land regularization, which was updated to facilitate procedures for both officials and citizens.

During the meeting, the Ministry reviewed the results of the work of the inspection, survey, and pricing committees, as well as the progress of land regularization applications. The meeting also discussed the timeline for each stage of the process and the measures being taken to accelerate the process. According to the Ministry, the land survey process is carried out within 72 hours, and the governorates have been instructed to complete the on-site inspection within 14 days of payment of inspection fees.

Minister Dr. Manal Awad has instructed the governorates to expedite the completion of land regularization applications and to consider social aspects when determining regularization prices. She also directed that the value of regularization be allowed to be paid in installments over 7 years, after paying a 15% contract deposit. This is subject to the approval of the Council of Ministers for eligible cases. Additionally, the Minister emphasized the need for the committees to meet regularly to speed up the process and avoid delays in contract procedures for citizens.

The Ministry of Local Development and Environment has also emphasized the importance of considering appeals submitted by citizens.
