Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellati has emphasized the need to intensify efforts to fully implement US President Trump's comprehensive peace plan in Gaza. This plan aims to bring about a lasting peace in the region. Abdellati made these remarks during a meeting with a group of eight Arab and Islamic countries at the Egyptian Embassy in New York. This, he said, would help improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister reiterated his country's rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land. He also condemned Israeli actions in the West Bank and attempts to alter the legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites. Abdellati warned of the dangers of Israeli settlement expansion and the imposition of new realities on the ground.
These actions, he said, could undermine the chances of establishing a Palestinian state and threaten the two-state solution and peace in the region. The ministers present at the meeting agreed to continue intensifying coordination and consultation during the coming phase regarding developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
