A delegation from Egypt's National Alliance for Civil Work recently participated in an international training program in China, focusing on building women's capabilities and sustainable development for developing countries. The program took place in Beijing and Lanzhou from September 3 to 16, 2026. The Egyptian delegation included representatives from various organizations, such as the National Alliance for Civil Work, the Liver Disease Patients Care Association, and the Life is Precious Foundation.
The program was organized with the support of China's Ministry of Commerce and hosted by the China Women's University in Beijing, in collaboration with Northwest Normal University in Gansu Province. The program included specialized workshops and field visits to learn about China's experience in economically and socially empowering women, promoting their participation in rural and urban development efforts, poverty reduction, and sustainable development.
During the program's opening ceremony, Dr. Reefa Ealam, a representative of the National Alliance for Civil Work, delivered a speech highlighting the historical and diplomatic relations between Egypt and China. She also showcased the alliance's experience in integrating and unifying the efforts of civil society institutions, supporting vulnerable groups, and empowering women and youth to contribute to development efforts.
The program brought together 30 representatives from seven countries across four continents, providing a platform for exchanging views, experiences, and best practices in development and women's leadership. The participants explored China's experience in establishing specialized educational and developmental institutions to support and empower women. The Egyptian delegation expressed its aspiration to benefit from Chinese experiences and adopt successful practices to support Egypt's sustainable development initiatives.
The National Alliance for Civil Work emphasized its continued efforts to build the capacities of its cadres, expand international cooperation and partnerships, and exchange developmental experiences. This aligns with the Egyptian government's efforts to achieve sustainable development goals, consistent with Egypt's Vision 2030, and contribute to improving citizens' quality of life.
The program enabled participants to engage in fruitful discussions and share experiences on women's empowerment, leadership, and participation in community service and sustainable development. The National Alliance for Civil Work's participation in this program demonstrates its commitment to enhancing women's roles and promoting sustainable development in Egypt.
