Egypt's markets witnessed relative stability in prices of vegetables, fruits, fish, and poultry on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The stability is attributed to sufficient supply and regular trading activity. According to the latest updates from the Obour Market and the Poultry Exchange, a field survey revealed slight variations between wholesale and retail prices due to transportation costs and profit margins.
The prices of vegetables showed relative stability with slight increases of 3-7 EGP per kilogram in retail markets compared to wholesale prices. For example, tomatoes ranged from 7.5 to 17.5 EGP per kilogram, potatoes from 14 to 20 EGP, white onions from 13 to 17 EGP, and red onions from 13 to 16 EGP. Other vegetables like zucchini, carrots, eggplants, and peppers also showed stable prices.

Notably, the prices of high-demand fruits like mangoes varied, with Egyptian mango prices ranging from 100 to 150 EGP per kilogram.
The prices of fish remained stable, particularly for tilapia, which is in high demand. The prices of tilapia ranged from 73 to 75 EGP per kilogram for the first quality and 68 to 72 EGP for the second quality. Other fish like fillet tilapia, white fish, and shrimp also showed stable prices. The survey also revealed that the prices of seafood like squid and calamari ranged from 250 to 450 EGP per kilogram.
The prices of poultry also remained stable, with white chicken prices ranging from 60 to 70 EGP per kilogram in the farms and 80 to 85 EGP in retail markets.
